Read the roles
In the Pagat reference the dealer aims for eight tricks, the player on the dealer’s left for five and the player on the right for three. The deal moves clockwise.
See it on the diagram
The target diagram lets you move the dealer marker while keeping A, B and C fixed in clockwise order. Read the role beside each number rather than remembering that a particular name always has a particular target.
Keep the distinction in your record
The scorebook stores a fixed player order and derives the roles for each hand. It does not move a player’s earlier results into another column when the deal changes.
